Speciality Fish

Animal Island Pets has an interesting and unique collection of large fish. These are fish that many times are purchased as baby fish by a hobbyist and soon start growing and growing until they reach a very large size. An example is the Oscar. Oscars are South American Cichlids that when small are colorful and cute. Relatively hardy fish, they soon have growing spurts that when fed well that will eventually reach a size of 10 to 12 inches or more. These fish require large aquariums with good filtration systems, a good supply of live food and tank mates that are compatible. These fish are not for the beginner as they do have need a fair amount of tank maintenance. If you want to have your own version of a “River Monster” fish, we have them available for you.
